Georgia signs Vladimir Weiss as new coach (The Associated Press)
Georgia has appointed former Slovakia coach Vladimir Weiss on a two-year contract after failing to qualify for the European Championship. Weiss was in talks with Georgia for a year, the Georgian football federation said, and his contract will be heavily based on bonuses for achieving certain performance targets. Weiss, who said he wants to ''stay for a long time'' with Georgia, has the task of rebuilding a team which finished fifth in its Euro 2016 qualifying group under previous coach Kakhaber Tskhadadze, ahead of only Gibraltar.
