Tim Howard made his first appearance in goal in two months when the United States played at Guatemala in a World Cup qualifier Friday night, and Clint Dempsey returned to the lineup for the first time since October. U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann has said he will alternate Howard with Brad Guzan, who seems likely to start Tuesday's qualifier against Guatemala at Columbus, Ohio. Jozy Altidore, who returned from a hamstring injury to enter as a second-half substitute for Toronto last weekend, was on the bench.
