Real Salt Lake-Timbers Preview (The Associated Press)
The Portland Timbers haven't had to think about bouncing back from a defeat for quite a while, but their last such experience resulted in a win over Real Salt Lake. Prior to Sunday's 2-1 loss in San Jose, Portland (1-1-0) had enjoyed a 7-0-3 unbeaten run that peaked with a trophy and a parade in December. "We're creating good chances and we haven't given up many clear chances, but we've been on the wrong end of a couple unbelievable goals that are really unavoidable," coach Caleb Porter told the club's official website.
