Didier Drogba's absence didn't affect the Montreal Impact in a strong season debut. Montreal's offense remained potent despite Drogba, whose 11 goals in 11 matches following his ballyhooed MLS arrival spurred the club to an inaugural playoff appearance last season, being held out of Sunday's lid-lifter at Vancouver. Ignacio Piatti scored twice and Dominic Oduro had a goal and an assist as the Impact defeated the Whitecaps 3-2 for their first road win in Canada in league play.
