Cologne director in trouble for throwing gum at opponents (The Associated Press)

BERLIN (AP) -- The German football federation has opened proceedings against Cologne sporting director Joerg Schmadtke for throwing chewing gum toward the Hoffenheim coaching area during a Bundesliga game Sunday.
