Bremen defeats Stuttgart 6-2 to leave Bundesliga drop zone (The Associated Press)
Werder Bremen routed Stuttgart 6-2 to leave the Bundesliga relegation zone at the visitors' expense in the German league's first Monday night game for 16 years. First half goals from Fin Bartels and Leven Oztunali and an own goal from Federico Barba put Bremen 3-1 up at the break, before Barba scored at the right end early in the second half to give Stuttgart hope. Claudio Pizarro settled Bremen's nerves with his 14th goal of the season in the 64th minute, Oztunali set up Bartels in the 80th, and Anthony Ujah completed the scoring in the 86th.
