Man United hires Mourinho as manager on 3-year deal (The Associated Press)

Manchester United hired Jose Mourinho as its third manager in three years on Friday, entrusting the highly successful Portuguese coach with the job of restoring the status of England's most prestigious club. In a long-expected move, Mourinho signed a three-year deal with an option to stay at the club until at least 2020. British media reported Mourinho will earn an annual salary of 12 million pounds ($17.5 million).
