Avalanche, onetime GM Greg Sherman part ways (Yahoo Sports)
Greg Sherman and the Colorado Avalanche have parted ways after the onetime general manager spent two decades with the company. Sherman spent five seasons as general manager of the Avalanche before Joe Sakic's promotion in 2014. Sherman's title was assistant general manager in 2014-15 and senior vice president of business and team operations last season.
