Stars re-sign defenseman Jordie Benn to avoid free agency (Yahoo Sports)
The Stars have re-signed defenseman Jordie Benn to a three-year contract, keeping the brother of high-scoring Dallas forward Jamie Benn out of free agency. Jordie Benn has played parts of five seasons since he was an undrafted free agent in 2011. Benn played in one of 13 playoff games for the Stars, who reached the Western Conference semifinals before losing a seven-game series to St. Louis.
