Whitecaps-Union preview (The Associated Press)
The surprising Philadelphia Union sit atop the Eastern Conference table heading into Saturday's home game against the Vancouver Whitecaps, who are in the playoff mix in the Western Conference. The Union (7-5-4) own a four-point lead over the second-place New York Red Bulls in the Eastern Conference, with one match left before the season midway point. Coach Jim Curtin shuffled his lineup against the Fire, bringing Roland Alberg off the bench to help make up for the loss of Vincent Nogueira.
