Pochettino: Big spending by United, City shows desperation (The Associated Press)
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino says the heavy offseason spending by some of his team's rivals for the Premier League title is a sign of desperation. Manchester City and Manchester United have spent around $200 million each on new players, with Paul Pogba completing his return to Old Trafford this week for a world-record fee of $116 million. Tottenham's only signings have been Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen for a combined $40 million.
