UEFA says it is giving more guaranteed Champions League group-stage places to the four highest-ranked leagues, which each get four slots from the 2018-19 season. UEFA also promises the billion-dollar annual prize money will be ''increased significantly'' for the three seasons through 2021. Italy is a winner in the deal, which also ensures the top-four placed teams from the Spanish, German, and English leagues go direct to the group stage from 2018.
