Red Bulls kick off MLS playoff run at Impact (The Associated Press)
The New York Red Bulls start their quest for their first MLS Cup title when they travel to Montreal on Sunday to face the Impact in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. New York, which finished first in the conference and received a bye in the knockout round, lost its only appearance in the MLS Cup final, dropping a 3-1 decision to the Columbus Crew in 2008. The Red Bulls (16-9-9) closed out the regular season last weekend with a 2-0 road win at Philadelphia to stretch their undefeated streak to 16 games in MLS, and 20 overall including CONCACAF Champions League.
