Araujo sentenced to 9 months in prison for refusing DUI test (The Associated Press)
Las Palmas forward Sergio Araujo has avoided jail time despite being sentenced to nine months in prison for refusing to undergo a breathalyzer test. The Argentine player will not have to serve time because he has no prior criminal record. Araujo denied wrongdoing for the Sept. 26 incident, saying he was set up by police officers who asked him to drive a car to safety after he and his friend were approached by authorities.
