David Moyes' problems as manager of struggling Premier League club Sunderland have escalated after he was handed a one-match touchline ban for verbally abusing a match official. Moyes was sent to the stands after remonstrating to the fourth official following a decision by referee Chris Kavanagh not to award Sunderland a penalty late in the team's 1-0 loss at Southampton in the last 16 of the English League Cup last week. Moyes admitted to a charge of misconduct and also received a fine of 8,000 pounds ($9,800) to go with his suspension, which means he will not be on the touchline for Sunderland's Premier League game at Bournemouth on Saturday.
