Rapids hope altitude helps turn West semi vs. Galaxy (The Associated Press)

The Colorado Rapids are down, but they like their chances of advancing in the MLS playoffs. The Rapids, seeded second, lost the first leg of their matchup with the Los Angeles Galaxy, 1-0, in Carson, Calif. Now for Colorado to move on it needs to win by two in regulation to take the series by aggregate goals, or win 1-0 and force a 30-minute overtime. It takes a little math to figure it out, but the Rapids like their chances because they are at home, in the altitude, where they have allowed just seven goals in 17 games.
