Boufal's goal gets Southampton past Middlesbrough (The Associated Press)
Southampton overcame Middlesbrough with a 1-0 victory thanks to a superb second-half strike from Sofiane Boufal at St Marys. The Saints dominated possession for long periods of the game but it was Middlesbrough who had the better chances in the first half. Jordan Rhodes had an excellent one early on but his shot was well saved by the feet of keeper Fraser Forster.
