Negredo powers Boro past Swansea (The Associated Press)
Alvaro Negredo struck twice in the span of 11 first-half minutes as Middlesbrough cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory over struggling Swansea City on Saturday at Riverside Stadium. Both clubs came into the clash desperately needing to find some winning form as Middlesbrough had lost their previous two Premier League fixtures, while Bob Bradley's Swans had lost two of their last three league contests. With the home crowd urging them on, Boro grabbed the lead after 18 minutes as Adam Clayton delivered an inch-perfect cross into the box from the left flank and Negredo applied an expert left-footed finish, leaving Swans goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski with no chance.
