Tottenham, Sunderland play to 0-0 draw (The Associated Press)
Sunderland and Tottenham played out a frustrating 0-0 draw on Tuesday at the Stadium of Light. Jermain Defoe nearly worked his way into a goal-scoring chance early on but his eventual shot was deflected over the bar. Fabio Borini then had the best chance of the game for Sunderland as he beat two men before firing straight at Michel Vorm from point-blank range.
