Blunt and sarcastic, Arena relaxes US after Klinsmann (The Associated Press)

FILE - In this Jan. 11, 2017, file photo, United States coach Bruce Arena watches his team during soccer practice in Carson, Calif. If the U.S. fails to beat Honduras on Friday, March 24, 2017, in San Jose, Calif., the Americans would be winless in the final round of World Cup qualifying with seven games left. Only one team has qualified from a similar start, Trinidad and Tobago in 2006. A(P Photo/Jae C. Hong, File)

Alejandro Bedoya missed a goal in training, and Bruce Arena wanted to make sure the midfielder knew he noticed. ''He threatened to chop my man bun off,'' Bedoya said, smiling. Humor has returned to the U.S. national team since Arena replaced Jurgen Klinsmann as coach in November, following losses in the first two games in the final round of World Cup qualifying.
