The group of top European soccer leagues has again threatened UEFA with direct schedule clashes on Champions League nights. The European Professional Football Leagues says its members have ''total freedom to schedule their matches as they see fit'' after a working agreement with UEFA expired in March. Relations with UEFA soured over a lack of consultation before changes to the 2018-21 Champions League seasons, and UEFA giving club representatives seats on its executive committee but not leagues.
