Baines' penalty gives Everton 1-0 win over Stoke (The Associated Press)
Everton recorded a second win in as many games as they beat Stoke City 1-0 at Goodison Park on Saturday thanks to Leighton Baines' penalty. The left back hammered the spot kick home in the 53rd minute, largely thanks to the post and the back of Shay Given's head. It was a well-deserved win for the hosts, who were the better side for the majority of the game with Ross Barkley and Mason Holgate shining.
