Austin comes off bench to help Southampton down Swansea (The Associated Press)
Substitute Charlie Austin was the only Southampton player to finish one of the countless chances the Saints created against Swansea, earning his side a 1-0 victory at St. Mary's on Sunday. The striker came off the bench for the Saints (1-2-2) in the 54th minute and found the net 10 minutes later, controlling a loose ball on his chest after Angel Rangel could only flick a low cross away. In the minutes preceding the goal, Southampton had been amazed to see several gilt-edged chances fail to find the target.
