Resigned to life without his talisman and towering central defender once more, Guardiola and City seek to maintain their perfect start by defeating Swansea City at Liberty Stadium for the second time in four days on Saturday. Kompany played his first match since May on Wednesday as Guardiola and the Citizens finally had their first-choice paring in central defence with Kompany and summer signing John Stones.
