United travels to Columbus for pivotal tilt (The Associated Press)
If D.C. United continues its winning ways at home against Columbus Crew SC on Wednesday, its chances of making the MLS playoffs will be greatly enhanced. United is 4-0-3 in the last seven matches at RFK Stadium, including a 4-1 win vs. Orlando City SC on Saturday that gave D.C. 10 goals in its past two home games. D.C. (8-9-13) holds the sixth and final postseason spot in the Eastern Conference with 37 points, but a victory against Columbus (7-11-1) would vault it past Montreal (38 points) and to within two points of fourth-place Philadelphia.
