Southampton 1, Everton 0 (The Associated Press)

Southampton made sure it was a miserable return to St Mary's for Ronald Koeman on Sunday as Charlie Austin's goal was enough to help the hosts take the three points with a 1-0 win over Everton. Austin was denied a chance to get on the scoresheet for a second time on two occasions, with Maarten Stekelenburg keeping the striker's tally down to one.
