Crystal Palace draw Watford in Allardyce's debut (The Associated Press)
It was honours even at Vicarage Road on Monday afternoon as Watford and Crystal Palace played out a 1-1 draw during Sam Allardyce's opening game as Palace boss. Yohan Cabaye opened the scoring with a fine finish on 26 minutes before Troy Deeney smashed home his 100th Watford goal from the penalty spot to salvage a point for the hosts. Palace missed a spot kick of their own in the opening half as Heurelho Gomes picked up the ball from a pass-back, before saving Christian Benteke's resulting penalty.
