Lallana's brace helps Liverpool beat Middlesbrough (The Associated Press)
Middlesbrough went down 3-0 to Liverpool at the Riverside on Wednesday thanks to a brace from Adam Lallana and a second-half strike from Divock Origi. The home side got off to a decent start and nearly found the back of the net when Ben Gibson saw his header well saved from an Adam Forshaw free-kick. Viktor Fischer nearly found the perfect response for Boro, but his drilled shot was well stopped by Simon Mignolet, who had a solid game in goal after coming in for the under-fire Loris Karius.
