10-man Valencia loses to Las Palmas 3-1 in Spanish league (The Associated Press)

Valencia conceded twice after Munir El Haddadi was sent off for a hard foul in the 51st minute, losing for the first time in three matches and remaining only six points from the relegation zone. Hull City-Manchester United Preview (The Associated Press)

Manchester United are awash in chaos, transfer rumours, a busy fixture list and some good football as they remain in the hunt for as many as four trophies, though the dream of the Premier League title being one of them seems far-fetched. It was a productive week of non-league football for Mourinho and Co. They saw off a strong challenge from Hull at KCOM Stadium on Thursday in the semifinals of the EFL Cup, advancing on a 3-2 aggregate despite a 2-1 loss. Paul Pogba's goal on 66 minutes proved to be the difference maker as Manchester United (11-8-3) advanced despite having their 17-match unbeaten streak in all competitions end.

Manchester City-West Ham United Preview (The Associated Press)

It's been an interesting few weeks for West Ham United. While the Hammers are currently on a good run of form in Premier League play with five wins from seven matches, they'll need to shake off some potential transfer disappointment before Wednesday's clash with Manchester City at the Olympic Stadium. Seeing players attempt to force a transfer to another club isn't completely out of the ordinary, but it can come as a bit of a surprise if the request comes from a club's best player - as was the case with French midfielder Dimitri Payet.

Everton-Stoke City Preview (The Associated Press)

Stoke City seem to be a prime example of this as Mark Hughes' charges are unbeaten in 2017. The Potters (7-7-8) will aim to extend that run of positive form to four consecutive matches when they welcome Everton to bet365.com Stadium on Wednesday night. After consecutive wins over Watford and Sunderland, the club claimed a point in a 1-1 draw with Manchester United in front of the home fans.

Still no talk of goal-line technology in Spain despite error (The Associated Press)

The refereeing mistake that cost Barcelona a goal on Sunday has not immediately prompted any official consideration of goal-line technology in Spanish football. The Spanish league and the Spanish soccer federation were not commenting on the clear error on Monday, and no immediate action was expected because of the missed call in Barcelona's 1-1 draw at Real Betis, a result that allowed Real Madrid to increase its league lead to four points. Goal-line technology is in use in many of the top European leagues - including England, Italy and Germany - but there is no timetable for when the technology might be implemented in Spain.

Senegal's loss is Liverpool's gain as Mane returns (The Associated Press)

Leicester City-Burnley Preview (The Associated Press)

The identity of reigning champions has not sit well with Leicester City throughout their title defence as Premier League opponents have gotten wise to their style. Leicester City (5-6-11) have as many wins in their first foray in Champions League in club history as they do in the Premier League. The goals that came as part of a flowing counterattack paced by Riyad Mahrez and often finished by Jamie Vardy have dried up to a large degree - the 15th-place Foxes have scored only 24 goals in league play after totaling 37 by this point last season.

Chelsea-Liverpool Preview (The Associated Press)

When Liverpool and Chelsea first met this year, the match was seen as an early measuring stick for manager Antonio Conte and the adjustments he had to make from both Italy and Juventus. Fast forward to Tuesday's match at Anfield, and the question is now what kind of adjustments must Jurgen Klopp make to keep his struggling Liverpool side in the Premier League title race. On Match Day 5, Jordan Henderson's wonder goal from 25 yards in the 36th minute stood as the match-winner as Liverpool (13-6-3) hung on for a 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge.

Watford-Arsenal Preview (The Associated Press)

It could be a trap game without the talisman on the touchline for Arsenal, who look to stay within reach of leaders Chelsea on Tuesday night against Watford while manager Arsene Wenger continues serving his ban. The FA handed down a four-match touchline ban to Wenger on Friday for pushing the fourth official in the tunnel area after being dismissed from the touchline late in Arsenal's 2-1 victory over Burnley on Jan. 22. Wenger did not appeal the misconduct charge, which began with Saturday's 5-0 smashing of Southampton to advance to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Tottenham Hotspur-Sunderland Preview (The Associated Press)

A visit from high-flying Tottenham Hotspur is the opposite of what the doctor ordered for Premier League strugglers Sunderland come Tuesday night. David Moyes' Black Cats (4-3-15) are at the foot of the table and have mustered just a single point in five matches. Only the leaky defences of Hull and Swansea City have allowed more goals (42) than Sunderland's back-line, while only misfiring Middlesbrough have managed to back fewer goals (20) at the other end.

West Brom-Middlesbrough Preview (The Associated Press)

West Bromwich Albion have big aspirations, and they can continue down the road of potential achievement Tuesday night against Middlesbrough. The Baggies (9-5-8) have been revived by Tony Pulis this season, playing organised yet attractive football, far away from the backs-to-the-wall stereotype that has followed their manager through his time in the Premier League. While defensive structure and midfield aggression remain a major part of Pulis' game-plan at West Brom, the form and ability of the likes of Salomon Rondon, Nacer Chadli and Matt Phillips means the team always poses a creative threat in games.

Southampton-Swansea City Preview (The Associated Press)

Swansea City have spent much of the season in the bottom three, but things have turned slightly for the better for the Swans as they head into Tuesday's fixture against Southampton at Liberty Stadium. After Bob Bradley's failed managerial tenure, Swansea plucked Paul Clement from Carlo Ancelotti's staff at Bayern Munich.

Crystal Palace-Bournemouth Preview (The Associated Press)

Sam Allardyce's rescue mission at Crystal Palace is not going according to plan. The former England boss - who lasted just one game in charge of the national team before being dismissed in disgrace after an undercover sting - was parachuted in at Palace on Dec. 23 with survival in the Premier League being his loan objective. The Eagles had spiraled down the table under Alan Pardew and appeared in very real threat of relegation, but the appointment of a 'survival specialist' such as Allardyce was supposed to change all of that.

Bruce Arena's second stint as coach of the U.S. national team began the same result as his first, a 0-0 draw. The United States had few scoring chances in Sunday's match against a young Serbia roster, the first game for the Americans since Jurgen Klinsmann was fired after a pair of losses in World Cup qualifiers in November and replaced by Arena. Arena led the team to a 71-30-29 record from 1998-2006, becoming the winningest coach in American national team history and earning election to the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

This year, the legitimate best of the best will be lacing them up for the 3-on-3 contest between representatives of all four divisions, including league-leading scorer Sidney Crosby, reigning MVP Patrick Kane and last year's Norris Trophy winning defenseman Drew Doughty.

Lionel Messi set up Luis Suarez's 90th-minute equalizer to help Barcelona salvage a 1-1 draw at Real Betis on Sunday, but the result could leave the Catalan club even further adrift of the Spanish league leader. Real Madrid, which has a game in hand, can open a four-point gap if it beats fifth-placed Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium later on Sunday. ''This result wasn't in our plans, but we have the entire second half of the league still to play and we have to keep putting pressure on the teams ahead of us,'' Barcelona coach Luis Enrique said.
