Second-half tally gets Stoke by Crystal Palace (The Associated Press)
Thanks to a second-half strike from Joe Allen, Stoke City overcame Crystal Palace with a 1-0 win at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday. Marko Arnautovic had the first chance of the game for Stoke (8-8-9) inside 10 minutes, but his left-footed drive was well parried away by Palace keeper Wayne Hennessey. James McArthur then had an excellent chance for the Eagles (5-4-16) as Andros Townsend found him inside the box with a super cross, but the midfielder failed to find the target with his header from close-range.
